Legacy modernization

Legacy Application Modernization Services

Big-bang rewrites fail because they stop the business while they run. ResoluteX modernises one workflow at a time: the new system takes over a slice of traffic, proves itself, and the old one shrinks until it can be switched off — with the business running throughout.

Each milestone retires a real piece of the legacy system, so value lands before the whole migration ends.

Where this work fits

01

Workflow-by-workflow migration

Move one business process at a time to a new service, behind the same entry point users already know.

02

API wrapping

Put a clean API in front of the legacy system so new products can be built without touching its internals.

03

Data migration

Move records in tested, reversible steps, with reconciliation reports that prove nothing was lost.

04

AI-ready foundations

Expose data and actions cleanly enough that AI features can use them safely later.

What you receive

  • 01A migration map ranking workflows by value and risk
  • 02A new service for each migrated workflow, in your repository
  • 03Routing that sends traffic to old or new with a switch
  • 04Data migration scripts and reconciliation reports
  • 05Tests covering behaviour that must not change

How delivery works

  1. 01

    Map the estate

We document what the legacy system does, who depends on it and where it breaks.

  2. 02

    Choose the first slice

One workflow with high value and contained risk becomes the first fixed-price milestone.

  3. 03

Run old and new side by side

Traffic moves gradually, with comparisons and a rollback switch at every step.

  4. 04

    Retire and repeat

Once the new path is proven, the old code for that slice is switched off and the next milestone is scoped.

A good fit when

  • A legacy system is too risky to change and too important to leave
  • New features are blocked because nobody wants to touch the old code
  • A previous rewrite stalled or was abandoned

Probably not the right fit when

  • You need a core banking or ERP replacement programme of hundreds of people
  • The legacy system is stable, cheap and needs no change
  • The business wants a single cut-over date for everything

Questions buyers ask

Before you scope the work

How much does legacy modernization cost?

Each milestone is fixed-price from $2.9k over two to four weeks. The total depends on how many workflows are migrated; you approve and pay for one milestone at a time.

Why not rewrite everything at once?

Rewrites stop delivering value until they finish, and many never finish. Migrating one workflow at a time delivers value at each step and keeps the business running.

Can the old and new systems run together?

Yes. That is the core of the approach: routing sends each request to the old or new path, so either can be switched back if something goes wrong.

Who owns the new code?

You do. It lives in your repository from the first week and is handed over with documentation at each milestone.
