FinOps and cloud cost

Cloud Cost Optimization Services (FinOps)

Most cloud bills grow by accident: oversized instances, idle environments, forgotten storage and metered SaaS that nobody re-evaluated. ResoluteX finds the waste, fixes it in code so it stays fixed, and gives you a line-item breakdown of what changed and what it saved.

A smaller cloud bill with receipts — every saving traced to a specific change you can review.

Where this work fits

01

Rightsizing

Match compute, database and storage tiers to measured use instead of launch-day guesses.

02

Idle and orphaned resources

Find environments, volumes, snapshots and load balancers that cost money and serve nothing.

03

Commitment planning

Model reserved capacity and savings plans against real usage before you sign up for a year.

04

Moving off metered SaaS

Self-host the tools whose usage-based pricing now costs more than running them yourself.

What you receive

  • 01A cost baseline broken down by service, environment and team
  • 02Changes applied through infrastructure as code, not console clicks
  • 03A line-item report of each change and its saving
  • 04Budgets and alerts so spend stays visible after we leave
  • 05A watch list of what to review each month

How delivery works

  1. 01

    Baseline the bill

We tag and break down current spend so every later saving can be measured against it.

  2. 02

    Rank the opportunities

Each saving is estimated and ranked by value and risk before anything changes.

  3. 03

    Apply in code

Approved changes go through infrastructure as code with review and a rollback path.

  4. 04

    Report and hand over

You get the line-item savings report, budgets, alerts and a monthly review checklist.

A good fit when

  • The cloud bill has grown faster than traffic or revenue
  • Nobody can say which team or feature drives which cost
  • You pay for usage-metered tools that you could reasonably run yourself

Probably not the right fit when

  • Spend is already small and tightly managed
  • Every resource is locked by a contract that cannot change this year
  • You only want a report, with no changes applied

Questions buyers ask

Before you scope the work

How much can cloud cost optimization save?

It depends on the starting point. On the work we do, the first month typically finds 20–40%, and every saving is itemised so you can check it against the bill.

How much does it cost?

Fixed-price sprints run from $1.9k to $7.6k over two to four weeks. The price is agreed before work starts, so it is not a share of the savings.

Will optimization hurt performance or reliability?

Changes are ranked by risk, applied through reviewed code with a rollback path, and checked against your service health dashboards.

Do you help move off SaaS tools?

Yes. Self-hosting migrations are part of the practice when the numbers support it, and we will say so plainly when they don't.
